This package is exclusively for candidates located in the UK. If you need international checks for a candidate, please refrain from purchasing this package. Instead, select the ‘Speak to an expert’ option, and we will customize the ideal package for your needs.

The typical turnaround time for this package is five days. Please keep in mind that checks conducted through third parties may take 10-15 working days, and in some cases, this duration could be extended.

It is the employer's or organization’s responsibility to validate the right to work documents and fulfill DBS requirements. Each candidate must provide two eligible documents.

Checks Included

ID verification

Confirming the identity of a candidate undergoing screening is fundamental to all verification processes and packages. This step guarantees that subsequent screenings are based on the accurate assumption that the candidate is indeed who they claim to be. Consequently, any error or oversight in verifying the candidate's ID can undermine the integrity of all additional screening checks performed. If the candidate possesses a valid British or Irish passport (or an Irish passport card), we will conduct the right to work check digitally.

Right to work check

Verification of the right to work is mandatory for all candidates before they begin employment. This statutory requirement, enforced by the Home Office, is non-transferable and failure to comply can result in substantial fines and potential criminal charges. If the candidate possesses a valid British or Irish passport (or an Irish passport card), we will conduct the right to work check digitally.

Employment referencing

Most organizations focus on two key aspects of an employment reference check: employment verification (confirming dates and roles with previous employers) and substantive referencing (assessing conduct and competence). While many may only address employment verification due to a lack of statutory requirements, we include only the employment verification component in our package. If you require both, please contact us.

Criminal record checks*

The Preempt package features a Basic DBS-level criminal record check for your candidate(s). This check reveals any unspent convictions that candidates may have, which is essential for ensuring safer recruitment practices within your organization. *Please note that this check is applicable only in England and Wales, with additional costs for checks in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or international variations.

Credit check*

We provide employment credit checks at various levels, including standard checks based on five years of address history. Our reports highlight missed payments, defaults, county court judgments (CCJs), and bankruptcies, along with any linked addresses the candidate may have disclosed. Additionally, we can perform further checks using Credit Account Information Sharing (CAIS) data to assess the candidate's full financial history, including current accounts, credit cards, and any debts.
